| "This picture was one of a pair of paintings commissioned by the horse's owner, the late E.B. Moller, and shows the horse in action (he had a wonderful long stride!) when winning the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes. The horse was brilliantly ridden by Lester Piggott and ran his rivals (including Sadlers Wells) off their feet in what was then a course record time." |
