This painting depicts three horses from Henry Cecil's string working on the strip by the Bury Road. I thought the Summer morning sunshine lit the horses beautifully with the beech trees across the road as a backdrop. Also, the colouring of the pinks and greys which are soft and unusual somehow looked just right in this light."
