NATIONAL RIDING WEEK - 18TH-24TH MAY
Introduce a friend to riding! Alternatively visit some of the special events and participate in
special activities throughout the UK, all designed to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds
to take up riding. It is never too late to start so if you've always thought that you'd like to do
it but never plucked up the courage - contact your nearest British Horse Society recommended riding

*Kenny Harlow raised in Virginia, now resides in Cumberland, where he breeds and trains
horses. Kenny gives many symposium, clinics, demonstrations and training sessions - possibly his is
the fastest growing name in the horse industry.
Kenny's training methods and his special talent and rapport with horses are widely
recognised. He is a graduate of John Lyons certification program and can solve the most difficult
problems using humane techniques. He is renowned for restoring confidence and trust in horses that
have often been mishandled.
Kenny's "Request/Response" Clinic trains the horse and rider together, teaching the rider to
help soften and relax the horse. His work is widely respected throughout the United States and this
is a unique opportunity to experience his teaching first hand.

A unique annual event with many of the finest horses in the country competing including American and Rare Breeds.
Venue: Essex County Showground, Great Leigh, Essex. From 10am
£3 adults, £1.75 concession and under 5's free.

All breeds catered for with over 160 affiliated and non affiliated classes, some of the best horses and ponies on the show scene, showing In Hand, Halter, English, Western and Saddle Seat. There are many major qualifiers including H.O.Y.S. Show Ponies, Lead Rein and First Ridden, etc.
Classes include Arabs, Coloureds, Appaloosas, Duns, Palominos, Cremellos, Maintain and Moorland. Spanish Horses also American Quarter Horses, Morgans and Saddlebreeds.
There is so much to see and during the afternoon there are wonderful Grand Ring demonstrations including:
This promises to be a superbly entertaining day and proceeds will benefit various charities, including Riding for the Disabled, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.
