During the 1980s I was fortunate
to be able to visit Kentucky and spend several weeks there... It was simply wonderful
to have the opportunity of visiting all the major horse farms in the area, and to enjoy
the lovely scenery and colours of the ‘fall’.
Hopefully this picture captures the essence of Kentucky with the glorious trees, dark
post and rail fencing and attractive barn in the background. The two young fillies in
the painting were the daughters of two famous race mares of their time namely Terlingua
and Three Troikas. With their deep chestnut coats they were in complete harmony with
the colours of the scene around them.
